Now is the Time to Contact Your Legislators

We need you to add your voice to those of colleagues advocating for a stronger investment in our transportation system!

 

The legislature has just a few weeks left to decide on funding issues and whether or not to pass a capital bonding bill.  We need to protect the funding gains made in 2023 for transportation and push for funding of transportation programs like the Local Road Improvement Program and Local Bridge Replacement Program along with transit facilities and investments in ports and waterways. 

 

Some legislators are proposing cuts in the motor vehicle registration fee or license tab fees.  These are huge cuts that may or may not be backfilled with general fund dollars.  We need to make sure legislators understand the devastating impact of cutting hundreds of millions of dollars in dedicated fees on our road and bridge programs. There are also bills being introduced to provide a "gas tax holiday" for a period of time, creating more disruption and potential loss of badly needed funding for roads and bridges. 

 

Now is the time to send a message to your legislators and the governor.
