Years of neglect have left Minnesota’s roads worn out, our bridges deteriorating and our transit systems outdated and inadequate. It’s time for our state government to look at the big picture and invest in a transportation system that works to improve our economy, enhance our quality of life and get people where they need to go safely.
Progress In Motion is a strategic, collaborative effort to provide a permanent increase in dedicated funding for both highways and transit at a level that will make a difference in the safety and effectiveness of our transportation system.
All of the participants of Progress In Motion are united behind the goal of having a transportation funding package become law that is comparable to or larger than legislation passed by over two-thirds of the legislature and vetoed by the Governor in 2007.
This plan is fair because it relies on user fees. It funds both highways and transit and will make a difference throughout Minnesota.
